Forum techi problems...

Postby RetroGoth on Fri Jan 11, 2008 5:21 pm

Am having a big problem with lots of HTTP500 error messages when posting messages. Hitting refresh only enters a duplicate message and it's a bit of a pain having to manually delete the extras (hope I haven't missed any!)

I get lots of 'page cannot be displayed' messages. Must be a server problem.
One tip is to copy your message before you post, then it doesn't get lost in the ether.
Get off the line Bobby!

There are several instances in these forums (fora?) that have duplicate entries. It's probably caused by the dreaded 'page cannot be displayed' that comes up after clicking on 'submit' so you naturally re-submit it.
I've found that if you get that message, go away and have a coffee/beer/cola or whatever, and sign in again and invariably, you post is there!

I think it's all down to a busy little server that can't keep up with the workload.

Only happened to me Once And that was a short post so I did it again and it came up twice.
