Select problems...

Postby Camborner on Sun Sep 14, 2008 8:11 pm

Whilst filming tonight, I encountered a problem with my Select unit.
When I tried to consist two locomotives together, during the light flashing, they jerked backwards four times. Then, when I turned the knob, neither moved. When I then dissolved the consist, neither would move. Locomotives not in the consist were not affected. I've tried reseting the controller, but to no avail. Has anyone encountered this before, and does anyone know what to do?

Very strange. Do the locos not work at all? Have you tried to give them a new address? Do they respond to new addresses?

Switching the controller on and off returns them to working order, but the turntable wired to a Hornby loco decoder has also recently taken to forgetting it's usual addres of 59 and changing to 1.

Sounds a bit like the Select may need looking at. I'd try a phone call or email to Hornby customer services tech support.
A happy New Year to one and all
