Lenz Compact as walkabout to Elite

Postby traincliff on Sat Aug 02, 2008 9:05 pm

:D :D Hi all.
Some time ago I posted on here about connecting a Lenz Compact to an Elite Controller. Well today having got hold of a Hornby RJ12 connecting lead I was able to do it. Followed the Compact instructions for programming the Compact to work from Expressnet connection, switched it off and disconnected its transformer. then plugged the RJ12 lead in between Elite and Compact and found it worked okay. Can only use two figure addresses of course and if I had any locos with functions (will in the future) I can only get F0, F1 and F2 to work. F3 and F4 should be available on the Compact but does not appear to work on mine.

Anyway it will be useful as Compact can be used for the branch line when it is eventually added to my layout which itself is still under construction.
