Just Steamed in

Postby Mallard on Tue Jun 17, 2008 10:00 am

Hi Guys and any Gals, I am Mallard in respect of my all-time Favourite steam locomotive since first ever seeing it and when in the Transport Museum, when it was in Clapham. A lot of people have disbelieved me that this was so, then somebody else confirmed it for me. I would have been a teenager at the time.

I have been a Rail Enthusiast and modeller since early childhood after Dad asked the driver of a steam locomotive if I could look on the footplate. After getting off again, I was hooked and so always asked for a train-set for birthday or christmas.

Three years ago, I was at a meeting and enquired where the local Model Railway Club was situated? Seeing as there wasn't one, nor had ever been one, I set about starting one up. We now have a 'OO gauge' layout currently 22 feet long, 2 feet wide and now in the process of building another 8 feet on to it. Then we will be building a new layout in 'N gauge' for those of us into that scale. I like both, so will operate on both when built.
