I am about to start a quiz DVD for the LNERCA. This is going to be pictures, movies and sound clip questions that have to be answered by multi-choise. The more correct answers you get the better the movie clips will be that are played. It will keep score of all your correct answers, as you go and give you a chance to go back and re-try any that you have not got correct. I think, in addition to all the quiz elements it should have about 60 minutes of footage of the NYMR and the Teaks. At the moment this is just in the planning stage, I have only done a test with six questions to make sure that I can do it!
This really is just a quick couple of questions just to help us pitch it right, when we get it finished.

1. Have you seen any quiz DVDs that are Railway/Preserved Steam Based.

2. Would you consider buying this sort of DVD or do you have any other quiz DVDs

3. What would you pay for this type of DVD (LNERCA DVDs range from £5-£15)

I would probaly consider it, but I am not too good on the LNER, but there are people who would buy it. If there is good footage it is worth it for that.

I would probaly be willing to pay a maximum of £9.99 inc p&p.

I have never seen a railway based quiz DVD and to be honest i don't think i would buy one , but after saying that i could see Deb buying it for me as a pressy at Christmas if it was about a tenner

I've never seen a railway DVD quiz either. The LNER isn't my thing but there's a couple of guys in my club that are and I'd certainly let them know.

There is just one thing puzzleing me,am i right in thinking that your late dad was born in 1947.
Now if im right how could you be at Kings Cross with him in the 50s or have i got my sums wrong.

Yes, that is quite right thinking about it. Paul, who unfortunately passed away, was born in 1947, so if we say in 1959 he was 12, so how were you with him Paul?

Is the loco in question 10000 [aka 60700 "Hush-Hush"] ....
TTBOMK ....it was involved in an accident in 1955.
It never ran again.
It was taken to Doncaster,where it was eventually dismantled in 1959.
Oh ... ... and it is not featured in my 1957 OBoRL.

..... blimey must be getting old............. must have been another even with an A4 shapped loco! Hush hush did run, it ran until 1959 TerryB.......... Half of Peterborough turned out to see it.

Yep ...age plays tricks ...was'nt there a B1 or B17 A4 shaped loco [was before my time though] ........I remember my Dad taking me to Doncaster hoping to see Hush-Hush before it was dismantled.
We never saw it ....

Sorry Terry mate Ive got a pic of 10000 at Doncaster on the 10th May 1958 on the 10 8am to Kings Cross with - drawen June 1959.
Shed code 36A Doncaster i will try and put it on forum.

It was built as the HusH-Hush then in 1939 it tuck on the A4 styling.

With talking about steamlining there was a schools class streamlined by OVS prior to his Merchant Navy class locos. I will try to find a picture of it and which one it was.
